Inspiration’s Well (February 2002)

Bookmark and Share

Amongst the virid vines,
My heart glows with orange fire.
Rushing blood and eyes so keen—
I feel as I’ll never tire.

This is my peace,
The answer to the tragedy,
May it never cease—
This mind, this source of life.

I feel it now.
The wind so softly blowing,
A raindrop upon the brow,
The Muse’s kindly blessings.

I hear that royal sound
Of horses’ unshod hooves,
Shaking ghostly ground
Within the free man’s mind.

Here I can overcome,
Feel no betrayal or injustice.
What should I cower from?
All here is known to me.

This body, this shell
Holds the peace—
My mind, my Muse,
Inspiration’s well.
