In an effort to make drivers more aware of road safety during rainy days, the Papakura District Council of South Auckland, New Zealand, hired the creative advertising agency, Colenso BBDO to create an attention-grabbing billboard. The following news clip discusses their final creation, which was a “bleeding” billboard.

While certainly creative and eye-catching, I can never decide whether signs like these actually make people more aware or just distracted. Any thoughts?

It’s pretty cool, but those do look a bit distracting! You’d be like WTF, is the ink running on that billboard?

It must say something about how much rain Auckland gets in the winter (about 48 inches per year according to Wiki). “Always drive to the condushons.”
