“The Gardener,” my first short film.

A short film for one of my classes. This is a music video for German band Einsturzende Neubauten’s song “The Garden.” My close friends Kavita and Greg are the ones acting.
There was a lot more I wanted to do with this, but, as the way university usually goes, I ran out of time. What I learned from taking this class was that I like directing and film editing a lot, but I really hate working with the recording equipment.
After creating this, I checked out YouTube to see if anyone else had made music videos for this song. I found these two (of which the second one I recommend most highly):
There was another, but this user has embedding videos disabled, so I can only link to it. I find it interesting that we all took the distorted, grainy approach. It should be noted that I specifically avoided watching anything on this song prior to completing this project, because I didn’t want my ideas to be tainted.
Thanks to Greg and Kav for putting up with me not once, not twice, but three times, when it came to shooting this.
