MP3 Thursday: Baal Tinne
Date: November 30, 2006
Baal Tinne is a five-person, traditional Celtic band out of Glenview, Illinois, in the United States. Fiddle, guitar, flute, tin whistle and piano are used to the fullest in this band, and though traditional the music may be, the sound and style are crisp, clear and quite original. The band has been around since the early 80s, and their skills speak of their long-term commitments. Each member brings a lot to the table.
If you are a fan of the Celtic bands Solas or Coolfin, you will most likely enjoy Baal Tinne.

I love the guitar again (like usual, I’m a guitar freak), superb quality as a whole. There are certain pieces of each of these songs that I really like, and others that I have a harder time getting into. That is just because of the genre though. Its always been like that for me with this ‘Irish’ sounding music.
I went to a flute recital, and a percussion recital at Weber State College over the last month, both had a lot of music of this kind. It was very cool to listen to it live and watch the instruments being played.
