MP3 Thursday: Workbench Music

Date: September 21, 2006

Workbench Music: Zoo Workbench Music is the electronic and ambient musical works of Sébastien Marchal. This site is packed with tracks that will thrill lovers of ambient music for hours on end. If you enjoy soothing, new age electronic sounds coupled with a hint of nature, you should definitely take note of Workbench.

You may also like Workbench Music if you’re a fan of original scores from films and games or the music of the group Llewellyn. Workbench Music might be considered a lighter, airier sibling of previously a featured band, O’er the Dreaming Earth.

Download Information

There are five albums Marchal has created, the most recent being Zoo, which he has opened to the public for free downloading. There is also a collection of stand-alone music that didn’t necessarily fit into any of the albums.

Support Workbench Music

Outside of the Zoo album, which will be available as a purchasable CD later this year, you can purchase the other Workbench Music albums by visiting the shopping information page of the Workbench Music site.

MP3 Thursday Information

If you’re a musician and would like to have your music featured on MP3 Thursday, contact me at leliathomas@gmail.com with a website I can visit for more information on you or your band. Anyone, musician or not, is welcome to submit suggestions, also. Note: There must be at least one free and legal MP3 for users to download from a website for me to dedicate an MP3 Thursday feature to the musician(s).

I love this kind of stuff. So far i’ve only listened to one track, but the twists and turns in this kind of music can really bring it to life. The mesmerizing sounds can keep me entranced for hours. I would love to hear someone really mix some ‘chaotic’ sounds with the mesmerizing sounds. It would make for a roller coaster ride of feeling in music.
This is some great stuff. I’ll get this full album for sure.
