Lots of goodies this week!
- Dan Allen is right. This doesn’t translate well, but it makes me laugh, so it’s worth it.
- I’m a huge fan of the website Truth or Fiction, which is a bit like a smaller(?) version of Snopes, and I feel it pushes less of its own politics when revealing the truth. While randomly browsing, I came across an old article about some urinals in Amsterdam that have pictures of flies etched into them. How nasty is that? Amusing, though…
- This is a video of Erik Mongrain playing guitar with amazing technique.
- Got a lot of meat and time to blow? (Pun intended.) How ’bout you make a giant, 30-pound hamburger?
- Whether you like Dr. Laura or think she’s a quack, you have to admit that Why Can’t I Own a Canadian? is one funny joke.
- Don’t Click It is a fine example of good flash animation, something I severely respect but would also never seek to accomplish! The idea behind Don’t Click It is to experience the web without, well, having to click anything. I think this is a great idea. Some people have said they had extreme difficulty navigating the site because of this, but, well, maybe it’s the geek in me, but I found it tremendously easy. I can see something like this in the future.
- Politics Explained is probably a lot more truthful than half of what we got in our high school history books.
- Are you a cheap jerk who never wants to reproduce? Give your girlfriend a Tyvek FedEx Wallet. She’ll make sure you never breed.
- Check out Treelight Studios, the online gallery of Australian fantasy and portrait artist Harmony Steel. Lots of cute works on this site.
- And last, but not least, this is why we have the internet: so questions like this can be answered. If pigs could talk, would we stop eating them?
