This photograph was taken at the same park in Decatur, Alabama, that “Shadows of Mankind” was. While walking around, looking for things to take pictures of, a man, his two daughters and a truckload of their pet dogs stopped for some afternoon fun. The two little girls were inseparable, it seemed, and when the eldest walked out into the water, the younger child wanted to follow; unfortunately, she was too afraid.
Being the good big sister that she was, the older of the two held out her hand and helped the little girl overcome her fear. I think this is a prime example of how everyone should act, no matter one’s age or stage of life. There’s nothing wrong with holding out your hand to someone and telling him everything will be all right.
