Ring by Ring by Lelia Thomas

Step before, step aside;
Sway to sounds of the tide.
Three maidens times three—
Quickly now, follow me.

Like waves, we roll and turn,
In and out, back and churn.
Ring by ring…
Songs to sing…

Music of old
And tales untold.
Step before, step aside;
All together, then divide.

Step before, step behind;
No other like our kind.
Linked are the dances, our hands,
One with the night, one with the lands.

Step before, step last…
Quicker, quicker, must be fast!
Our footprints hath now been cast.
Our dance, oh we dancers, tell of times past.
