Dew settles in the valley below,
And wind kisses cliff ends
As the sun climbs high.
This breath of dawn,
In yellow and satin red,
Breathes life onto the day.
And here I stand,
A speck upon the Earth,
Hardly a second in all time.
But dawn comes for me,
Rising like an ocean wave,
To wish me well in life.
All worries and past regrets
Fall like leaves from the tree
As the dawn washes me clean.
New hopes and dreams
Bloom like morning glory,
And I am made whole.
Clouds glide lazily above,
In shapes of childish whims,
And life seems so simple.
This breath of dawn sighs
Against my skin like summer rain
To remind me of an old God.
And all things I have seen,
Horrors not meant for young eyes,
Pass away as the sun consumes the dew.
This breath of dawn whispers
Revival for a human race,
And I am made whole.
Written in 2005. Nature can make a man whole again.
